Új Bála is a solo project by Gábor Kovács, a Hungarian musician and visual artist. Active in numerous music projects, Új Bála sees him embrace the (basement) dancefloor. The intense, relentless grittiness, which has become Gábor’s trademark, is present here, but there are also moments of release – grainy, nostalgic moods on the backdrop of dingy, stripped down rhythms, off-kilter exotica and plenty of mangled misanthropy.
